Frequently asked questions
Can a Member add or delete other users?
No. Only Admins and Owners can add users, delete users, deactivate users or update permissions.
What's the difference between deleting a user and deactivating a user?
Deleting a user removes their Discern account. Deactivating a user temporarily suspends their Discern access, but the account still exists and can be reactivated. Both deleted and deactivated users will not be able to log into Discern.
What happens if a Member has no permissions selected?
They keep access to the areas available to all users (listed above) but can’t view Service of Process, State Notices, or Billing, and can’t submit Tasks or Filings.
Can I change a user’s email address from this screen?
No, the email field is locked. If you need to update user email addresses, please reach out to [email protected]
